110 Westlake Drive

The City Council began discussion the potential sale of 110 Westlake Drive in 2013.  Since August 2016, the matter has appeared on City Council agendas for discussion at least ten times.

The City Council voted to solicit proposals from interested buyers on March 8, 2017.  The original Request for Proposals was posted on the City’s website on June 19, 2017, and proposals were due by November 20, 2017.  A Town Hall meeting was held by the City Council on October 15, 2017 to allow all interested parties to comment on the matter.

The City Council discussed the criterion that they used to evaluate the proposals that were submitted at the City Council meetings on January 24th and February 14th.  Public hearings were also held on those dates to allow residents to share their opinions and thoughts  on the list of criterion.  View the list here.   

The City Council held City Council workshop or Town Hall meeting on Sunday, February 18th, at 2:00 pm.  The purpose of the meeting was to allow each entity that had submitted a proposal a few minutes to explain their proposal to Council (and any residents in attendance) and to start the City Council deliberation on the merits of the projects based on the list of criterion established by the City Council.  Many residents attended the meeting.  Council ultimately decided to reject all proposals and voted to restart the RFP process--this time only allowing proposals for one and two family residential projects.

Council discussed the RFP process on May 9th and directed staff to revise the existing RFP document to include changes requested by Council. The new, draft RFP was discussed and reviewed by the City Council on June 13th.

Two proposals were submitted in response to the RFP.  Both proposals will be discussed at the November 14th Council meeting.  That meeting will begin at 7:00 pm (or at the conclusion of the Board of Adjustment meeting).
