Tree Replacement
The effects of an oak wilt infestation can be devastating, not only in the loss of the trees themselves, but in property values as well. Because all oak species are susceptible to oak wilt, it is prudent not to replace oaks lost to the deadly fungus with more oaks within the diseased area or just ahead of an expanding disease center.

Texas foresters say diversity is a critical component to maintaining and promoting a healthy landscape and ecosystem. All too often, many native trees which are well suited to the Edwards Plateau are overlooked.

Below is a list of links to native trees and plants which should be considered whether replacing trees lost to oak wilt or adding to an existing landscape.
