City elections are held on the first Saturday in May. Early voting typically starts a few weeks before the actual election date. As elections dates get closer, more detailed information will be made available on this page.

In order to vote in city elections, you must be registered with the State of Texas. Voter registration for West Lake Hills residents is handled by the Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector.

The City’s General Election is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2020, and is for the purpose of electing the following positions: Mayor, Council member Place 2 and Council member Place 4

  • January 15 to February 14 (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mon. - Fri.) - Filing for Place on the Ballot
  • January 1 to April 20 - Application for Ballot by Mail (Received, not Postmarked) (deadline falls on San Jacinto Day, moves to preceding business day)
  • April 2 - Last day to register to vote
  • April 20 to April 28 - Early Voting
  • May 2 - Election Day, ends at 7 p.m.
