The Texas Department of Transportation’s work on the Bee Cave Road Improvement project is progressing smoothly. In order to install a waterline, crews need to close Westlake Drive to all traffic between Bee Cave Road and West Spring Drive. This closure is planned to begin on Friday, July 26 at 8 p.m., and the roadway is anticipated to remain closed nightly through late August, weather permitting. Crews will be working seven days a week, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the roadway will be open to all traffic during the day apart from occasional daytime work.
During the 8:00 pm to 6:00 am work hours, residents driving south on Westlake Drive will need to access Bee Cave Road to the east by turning east onto Rocky River Road and then south onto Reveille Road. To access Bee Cave Road to the west, residents will turn west onto West Spring Drive, and then south onto Westhaven Drive. Residents needing to go north on Westlake Drive from Bee Cave Road during the construction hours will turn north on Reveille or Westhaven then proceed to Westlake Drive via Rocky River Road or West Spring, respectively. Signage will be placed in the area to direct drivers through the detour.
